Hello Little One!

Everett Bradford Janeway
5-7-11 at 5:07 am. 7lbs 12 ounces, 20 3/4 inches long

Currently Everett is in the NICU. He has a very rare (and still undiagnosed) extremely low blood platelet count. (9,000 instead of 150,000+). He had a platelet transfusion and now they are monitoring him. He will need another transfusion this afternoon. He is undergoing a battery of tests to try to find out more. Bless his little heart. I'll update the blog when we hear more!

UPDATE: Everett is doing really well. It turns out Kimberly's blood cells were attacking his. Now that he is on his own he is able to recover. His platelet count is rising and he should be fine without another transfusion. Once he stabilizes this shouldn't be a problem that will affect him again. We are so blessed to have everything work out for this sweet little boy! I can't wait to meet him :)

  2. Have you learned that pinches on the bum and kisses behind the ear lobe are Isaacson requirements? Of course there is blowing bubbles on the belly, etc. Just don't want you to get off on the wrong foot with the family and all. Hah!
