52 Questions, 52 Weeks

I really really want to work on keeping our blog better updated. I like that I have a place to dump all my pictures but I feel like posting just once a month or every other month I'm missing out on all the little stories and things that I really want to be documenting! I got this list of 52 questions from Family Search and hopefully this will help motivate me to write each week! So, since I'm on anyway, I'm going to chat about what's been going on, and then answer my question :)

I mentioned in my last post that Hendrix wants a bike so bad. When he sees a bike he reaches for it and wants to play. He sits on toy cars (from the small hot wheels variety up to that little bus he can actually sit on) and tries to cruise around. He has a toy push car thing that he can sit and ride on too, but I feel like he is outgrowing it. He has a book with a picture of a clown falling off a unicycle on it (the picture is such a minor part of the story and only like 1.5 inches tall....) and he flips right to that page and says "peese! peese!" while he tries to grab the bike out of the book. He did that again this morning to Dylan and it was so cute we couldn't resist. SO, we just bought him a balance bike :) we were going to wait until his birthday, but it's a healthy, wholesome activity that encourages growth, independence, and he just wanted one so bad. It should get here on Wednesday!! Stay tuned for pictures ;)

Said picture of clown falling off his unicycle. Side note, we LOVE these Muddle & Match books :)

Question 1: What is your full name? Explain why your parents gave it to you

Dylan Sigurd Isaacson My parents really liked the name Dylan, it was a top name on their list, and they also really liked Bob Dylan, so that was a bonus. Sigurd is my Dad's Brother's name, and they, of course, love him. And Sigurd is a name from our Scandinavian heritage as well (and Sigurd is a Volsong, who slayed Fafnir the dragon, so that's cool).

Heather Rae Harston My middle name is after my paternal grandpa (Ray Richards Harston). If I'm correct, my mom liked the name Hillary, but had a friend with a little girl named Hillary, and liked the way "Heather Rae" sounded similar. I went by Heather Rae until about 5th grade (and even still am Heather Rae to a lot of my family :)

Hendrix Thomas Isaacson When Dylan and I started dating he told me his first son's name was going to be Hendrix. I thought that was kind of silly, because I feel like girls might dream up baby names but I didn't know of any boys that did :) Dylan was really inspired by Jimi Hendrix when he went to the Experience the Music Project (EMP) in Seattle when he was in Middle School (13 I think). That was a turning point for his music. He came home and played his guitar until his fingers bled and continued to play. He practiced and honed that talent, and now (I'm not just saying this because I'm his wife) is one of the most talented musicians I've ever heard. If he wanted to, he could go professional with his talent. Anyway, that is where Hendrix came from (Hendrickson is also a family name, so we liked that association as well). Thomas is after his paternal grandpa (Thomas Lee Isaacson).

Eloise Magdelena Isaacson We liked the classic sounding names and wanted something that wasn't common but wasn't too crazy or a made up name (seriously it seems like so many people are just drawing letters out of a hat and putting them together to make a name.....) we went with Eloise and did NOT want to call her Ellie, and went with Louie or Lou or Maggie Lou for nick names :) Magdelena is a Great Great Grandma's middle name (paternal side, we like the Scandinavian names).
