July

Hendrix got a haircut! This time I cut it with the buzzers. We both missed his curls at first, but it's definitely growing on us. With the weather getting so hot I'm sure he is grateful too!

Laying on sister! I know Hendo has been kicked at least a few times, but
he still has shown absolutely no reaction to it.

Grandma and Grandpa stayed the night on their way through
to Twin Falls. Hendrix was so excited to show Grandma
his new trucks (he doesn't realize they came from her!)

We like to watch a youtube show called Good Mythical Morning. Today Dad decided to put it
up on the TV and we watched it as a family. Hendrix LOVES Rett and Link!

Dylan was getting things out of the back of the van and Hendo didn't want to get out!
So he left Hendrix in the trunk while he ran some stuff into the house. Hendrix crawled up
from the back all the way to the front to drive the car!

Checking his temperature.....

At Nana's house. He is letting us know he is ready for food!

Cable Cove

When Tom was little his Dad owned the mining rights to a mine up here and they use to come up for a week or two every year to camp out and mine. A couple years ago he got in contact with the super nice couple that now owns the land and they invited us out to come camping. It was so much fun to spend a few days with the family and be out in the wilderness!

There is now a really nice cabin there, with running water from a nearby spring. There was even a tankless hot water heater, so we felt pretty spoiled! (although no toilet, but a very nice outhouse!) There were 2 beds in the cabin upstairs, so Carly & Shem's family took one room and Dylan & I got the other while Tom & Glenda slept on mattresses on the living room floor.

Hendrix LOVES hiking. Even though we weren't quite ready to go
yet he just wanted to hang out in the hiking pack.

That's the cabin we stayed in. It's quite incredible that we can
be in the middle of the wilderness staying in a place like this.

The sign reads "Uncle Tom's Cabin" Tom's Dad put up that
sign for him when he was a kid.

This hillside kept eroding and sliding so Grandpa Isaacson
built this retaining wall. It's still in incredible shape today!

The boys wanted to hike to Crown Point so I carried Hendrix back
to the cabin. It was sweet to feel his hands on my shoulders and him
singing in my ear! I'm glad the hike wasn't too long though....carrying
a baby on my back and a baby in my belly is hard work!

We didn't want Atticus to go to the point because we weren't sure if they
would have to scale any rock walls or anything to get there. He had a really
really hard time watching his Dad walk away without him.

Hendrix LOVED climbing on all the rocks. He would go out of his way to walk over them. Then
even started to climb up the tall rocks! He would get up to me, then turn around and slide
back down to Dylan on his bum. It was pretty adorable.

Atticus is part Mountain Goat.

On the very tippy top of Crown Point!

Washington!

We went to Washington to help my parents prep their house to sell/pack. It was so much fun but SO HUMID!! I lived in Enumclaw for 18 years but the 8 I've been away has totally changed me. Being pregnant probably didn't help me stay cool either ;) We sure had a good time though!

All the cousins are running around outside. Hendrix wanted to go play
so bad! Since he still isn't walking yet I was worried about him getting trampled,
so he had to stay inside until I finished cleaning!

so incredibly hot!

Kelsey and Mackenna were wiped out after playing in the water

Dad makes a good climbing gym

Aunt Nat teaching Hendrix that raw potatoes are yummy.
We get it from Great-Grandpa Harston!

Playing a duet with Aunt Kim
Hendrix and Maverick were frenimies on this trip. When they were getting along it was sure cute! (There is 10 months between them, but Hendrix is almost as big as Maverick!)

Maverick kept showing me his foot whenever the camera would come out.
He is pretty proud to have feet!

Sean and his 4 boys + my family went to the lake to cool off. I hung out in the shade reading a book but the boys all loved the water. At one point Dylan and Sean were just chatting while Dylan had Hendrix (all of Sean's boys were playing, but not directly by them). This lady came up and told them that they were so precious and should get a picture, that the three of them were such a cute family.....believe it or not, this was just the first time Dylan and Sean were thought to be a couple! It happened multiple times this weekend, and they even earned a couple name, DySean.

Brayden is playing on a cross section of a tree that someone had put in the water. That kid had pretty good balance on that log!

I have a serious craving for sushi, and there is a really delicious sushi place in Enumclaw
so of course I had to hit it up while we were there! Asher and Kim were going on a date and
decided to tag along. Asher never had sushi before, and the sushi Asher picked came out on fire!

Hendrix and Everett (Kim & Sean's)

Hendrix LOVES slides. He loves to climb up and slide down...over and over and over.
This slide was too steep and narrow for him to manage on his own. He wore me out
going up and down! Every time I thought we might be done and I tried to distract him
with something else he would make a bee line back for that slide!

This picture captures so many things. The boys spent so much time (and probably brain cells)
on the tire swing. And by boys I mean Dylan and Sean, and sometimes the younger boys ;)
And Maverick, totally oblivious (or just uncaring) that he is in the path of danger. Don't
worry, I got him out of there before the tire started swinging!

Hendrix discovered the car mountain this time. At first he just wanted to climb it, so we
has some early morning mountain conquering! Then he figured out that there are tracks
for cars to go down and thought is was a pretty fun toy!

spent LOTS of time reading. Hex and Mavy would read together quite a bit!

Off on another adventure! We went to Denny Creek. Part of the river flows over bedrock,
and the water has formed natural water slides in the giant slabs of rocks. Unfortunately for us
the water level was so incredibly low, so we didn't get much water sliding in, but it was still a fun
hike and everyone enjoyed cooling off in the river.

Wanted to wear his sunglasses, just not on his eyes.

This giant stump had half a dozen new trees growing out of it.
It was really impressive!
Dylan and Brayden (Kim and Sean's)

Every time I tried to take a picture Hendrix would push the hat
down over his eyes. This boy is so silly!

I thought the water would be too cold for Hendrix so I didn't even bring his swimsuit.
Silly me thinking I could keep him out of the water! It actually was quite pleasant and
Hendrix sat in this shallow pool throwing rocks for the majority of our time there!

Helping Mom clean up camp! (We bring the snow disks to slide down the waterslides on
so we don't shred our clothes. We always get weird looks bringing those things up, but
it doesn't take long before the other hikers there are asking to try it our way!)

My Dad asked Dylan to help on Steve's trailer a bit so it could be road worthy so we could take it to him
on our way up to Camano Island. Dylan didn't have enough leverage to get the screws through all the layers
and was having a hard time. Dad came out to brace him and I thought it was so silly I had to snap
a few photos!

We headed up to Camano Island for the 4th of July. I sure love this place! I'm excited for my parents to be moving here. Ground breaking on their new house happened just after we left!

Uncle Will surprised everyone by getting a ride home from BYU-I for the weekend.
It was so awesome to see him. We had such a great time with so many siblings all together!

Hendrix is so excited to be at the beach! Also, I look like a beached whale......
finally gaining those pounds I need this pregnancy!

Crabbing season opened just in time! In 3 days we got 91 crab.

Quinn's, I mean, the Johnson's, goats! The little babies are so sweet.
The momma is quite small herself!

Hendrix had such a blast with all his cousins!

Uncle Will decided it was time Hendrix experienced an ice cream cone. Hendrix completely devoured it, then promptly begged everyone else for theirs!

Me showing off the baby bump!

This crab was a monster! He was SO MUCH larger than the scale.
We ate like kings this weekend!

The boat ramp was super busy, and the day before Quinn had to wait forever to get his boat in the water. So this time we got some man power and just hauled the boat down to the water. It worked, but it was hard work! Good thing we had so much muscle willing to help!
Dylan, Kyle, Will, Quinn, Sean

You can tell it's crabbing season. You can also tell where the tide line is.
Shells lined up the entire length of the beach.

Finally made it to the water!

Lance has this awesome tricycle that I think the adults might have spent
more time on than the kids. Dylan also found some popcicles so, you know,
he is pretty much in heaven.

(seriously. Look at him cruising around in the background)

The back 2 wheels of the tricycle pivot all the way around, so you throw your body
weight around a bit and this thing spins and slides and does all sorts of awesome things.
It's also hard to tell what direction you are going half the time, and difficult for adults to keep their balance......hilarity ensued.

Hendrix loves the ocean view!

Turns out a yoga mat is a pretty fun toy.

Busted out my Mom's ivory accordion!

We didn't pull pots on Sunday and everyone left Monday. Quinn didn't have a chance
to get the pots until after work on Monday. There were something like 26 crab that were
keepers! They definitely didn't all fit in the cooking pot at once. What a beautiful sight!
